Course overview:

A practical half day on negotiating with employees and employee representatives, delivered in partnership by the Employers Federation and the Centre for Negotiation and Leadership. The first part of the session will cover the legal ground: what you can and cannot do, where your obligations sit, and where the risk lies. The second part, led by Enda Young, covers the skills that decide how these conversations actually go: preparing your position, reading what the other side needs, holding your ground without damaging the relationship, and handling the moments when things get difficult. There will be short interactive exercises throughout and tools you can use the next day.
